Watching games on TV

On Saturday Oct.16th, our university football team will meet Indiana University football team. I have not decided if I go to the gym to watch the game. In recent years, more and more people like watching sports games like me. Some go to the stadium or gym to attend the games in person owing to the exciting atmosphere. However, others prefer to watch games on television due to convenience. In my opinion, I prefer watching games on TV because it’s cheaper, more comfortable and more extensive.
First of all, we can save a lot of money by watching games on TV. It is not cheap for us students to attend the games in person frequently. For example, I like Los Angeles Lakers so that I may go to the Staples Center (the home field of LAL) to watch a NBA game of LAL, but it is said that the best seat costs more than 2000 dollars. Moreover, it is hard to buy an important game ticket and of course it is much more expensive than usual. On the other hand, watching games on TV is free. We neither need to buy a ticket nor go to gym where is really far.
The second reason is that it is more comfortable to watch games on TV. Comparing to watching on TV, We cannot see the players' expression or the details of the game clearly on the spot because it’s too dangerous to sit closely. Furthermore, we can watch the game with the best visual angle on TV thanks to the professional cameraman. Therefore, the progress of the game can be watched clearly by the audience. In addition, the announcers are able to explicate the specific game for the audience. What is more, we can sit in the comfortable sofa and have something drink with our friends and family members.

Last but not least, people can watch different games at the same time. For instance, there are always a couple of NBA games being played at the same time. If we go to the gym to watch one game, we may miss other colorful games. It would be a pity. If we watch games on TV, we can change channels to watch different games so that we can know the results of other games as soon as possible. As a fan, I may not only pay attention to my favorite team or player, but also concern other teams or players.

In conclusion, watching games is a good way to support our favorite team. Although attending games in person would be one's unforgettable experience, watching games on television is a better choice because it's cheaper, more comfortable and easier to watch many games in one time. So I totally agree with watching games on television.

  1. I agree with your reasons behind the thesis statement. Although going to the actual place and enjoying the game could be more of excitement, concerning that we are student, it would be much more efficient to watch the game through television. Also, I liked the idea of how you stated the benefit of watching the game via television, which is that we would be able to watch another game that is being done at the same time. This incident often occurs to me and television always helps me to change the channel and see other different games. The overall format of the essay seems to be orgnized with each of the paragraph stating the main idea.
